The StorytellerIn my work as a spiritual director, I am repeatedly made aware of each person's deep need to tell his or her story. One aspect of spiritual maturity is the emergence of a genuine interest in hearing the stories of others as well as the collective stories of faith:
All human beings have an innate need to hear and tell stories and to have a story to live by…. religion, whatever else it has done, has provided one of the main ways of meeting this abiding need.
