If you listen carefully to the bass line, you can hear the watchman on the heights - pacing up and down.

    I left a comment before, and again, it didn't take. But I love the sound of these guys and the full choir that can be found by clicking on the youtube post is equally good. I will say the conductor of the full choir looks like he's pulling taffy when both groups are so good they don't need to be pulled along. LOL. Let's see if it takes this time.

    Yes, this is my favorite performance of Wachet Auf on YouTube.

    I agree, Tom, that Ton Koopman tends to be a bit on the intense side in his conducting style. Having said that, he's one of the best interpreters of the Baroque ever and he certainly knows how to get a precise sound out of a choral group!
